Traffic Advisory – Dec. 2 Transfer Orientation

Crescent Hill Parking FacilityThe University of South Florida will host Transfer Student Orientation on Friday, December 2 on its Tampa campus.

Students will arrive between 7 and 9 a.m. and park in the Crescent Hill Parking Facility located on Holly Drive. Attendance is projected at 750 people.

Higher than normal traffic volumes are expected at the main entrances and in the Crescent Hill parking area.

Drivers should expect some stopped vehicles as Orientation staff answer questions and facilitate parking in the Crescent Hill Facility. This may be an area to avoid, if possible, or allow extra time to reach your destination.

In addition, drivers are asked to be mindful of increased pedestrian traffic on Holly Drive throughout the entire day.

Help! I can’t register for classes!

Were you recently in OASIS and weren’t able to register for classes? You probably got an error message that told you to call the Office of Orientation. We may be able to answer your question here.

As a reminder, all undergraduate, degree-seeking students must attend a full Orientation session prior to being able to register for classes.

Registration Times for Spring 2012

  • Transfer Students: Dec. 2, 2011 (or after attending Orientation)
  • Non-Degree Seeking Students: Dec. 12, 2011
  • First Year Students: Jan. 5, 2012 (after attending Orientation)

You will not have a registration time in OASIS until you attend Orientation unless you are a non-degree seeking student.

To check your registration time, log into OASIS > Click Student tab > Click Registration > Click Registration Status.

Apply to be an OTL

Come join our dynamic and energetic team of student leaders and apply for the Orientation Team Leader position. Applications are due on Friday, October 21st and must include two references. Click here to learn more about the position, application, and information sessions that will explain the OTL position to you. We can’t wait to see your application!

The Office of Orientation can’t wait to welcome over 450 new Transfer students on Wednesday, June 15, at Transfer Orientation in the Marshall Student Center on USF’s Tampa campus.

Transfer Orientation is designed with transfer students in mind – you have demonstrated that they can be successful in college. Orientation is designed to prepare you to transition your success to the University of South Florida.

Parking Location Change for Transfer Orientation

Parking for Transfer Student Orientation has changed from the Laurel Parking Facility to the Crescent Hill Parking Facility.

Crescent Hill Parking Facility is located adjacent to the Marshall Student Center near the intersection of USF Palm Drive and USF Holly Drive.

The best entrance to use for arrival is Fletcher Avenue at USF Palm Drive. From this entrance, proceed to the second traffic light and turn left onto USF Holly Drive. Then, take the first right to enter the facility.

Your parking permit that was included in your e-confirmation packet is valid for any space in this facility. Orientation staff will be available to assist you once you arrive.

Parking Permit Guidelines

  • Permit is valid only on your Orientation date.
  • Students or guests with a valid disabled parking permit may park in any handicapped space on campus, with the disabled permit and Orientation permit both visible from the vehicle’s windshield
  • Permit must be printed from your e-confirmation packet and visible in its entirety from the driver’s side windshield
  • Students or guests driving a motorcycle to Orientation should visibly affix the permit to their bike (with tape or another adhesive)
  • If your vehicle information changes, log into MyOrientation to make the changes and download a new e-confirmations
  • Written changes and incorrect information are not permitted on parking permits. If you are not able to update your information, please see an Orientation staff member upon your arrival for a courtesy permit.
